Tired of the cold weather? Feeling, bored, stressed or low energy? Feeling like you need to make a change? Join us for a week on the magical Mexican island of Isla Mujeres to disconnect to reconnect. Experienced teachers Shea Leger and Jamie Rylett have created the perfect schedule to help you find your path and make 2023 the best year ever!

We are combining the best practices from the east and the west to enable you to reset, reboot and reconnect.

The Venue

We have rented a luxurious house on the beautiful Isla Mujeres, with its own private beach and crystal clear, warm Caribbean Sea. The venue has a private beach, garden and pier, plus a swimming pool and an amazing yoga shala.  Three buffet style meals a day are provided with a variety of good food from around the world, including daily locally sourced, authentic Mexican dinner’s.

‘This all sounds amazing but it must be expensive’

We have managed to create this whole luxury experience at an incredibly low price! We have lots of different prices for different requirements and staggered payments are available.  Once you arrive you won't need any money for the rest of the week, though you might want to explore this beautiful island in your free time.

‘The workshops sound great, but I really just want to do yoga and relax’

Everything offered on the retreat is entirely optional. We understand that some attendees may like to skip some classes and workshops and spend time in the sun or exploring the island. Bulidng on the experience from our last retreat, we have designed the schedule to provide even more flexibility with more challenging classes and more chill classes added. We encourage you to make this your retreat!

‘I want to come but I don’t have anyone to come with me’

Most people who attend retreats arrive alone but leave with new friends for life! We have designed the retreat to encourage social interaction through workshops and group activities. You will have free time everyday to hang out with the other attendees, plus we have optional group trips to places on the island, including Playa Norte, voted one of the top ten beaches in the Caribbean.

Although we are providing all the tools for an amazing week of transformation, we also want it to be fun! We can point you in the direction of many outside activities in your free time, from snorkelling at an underwater museum, shopping downtown or even helping look after stray dogs!  This really is your time! 

‘Who are the teachers?’

Jamie Rylett:

In a time when we see many ex dancers and gymnasts making the jump to teaching yoga, Jamie Rylett’s background couldn’t be more different.  Jamie discovered yoga when he was a stressed-out sales exec, who was much more likely to be found spending his free time on a Midlands nightclub door than meditating in an Indian Ashram!  That all changed in 2014 when a frequently occurring co-incidence eventually lead to him discovering Bikram Yoga.  He quickly became aware of yoga’s ability to correct physical imbalances, reduce pain and restore range of motion, not to mention the mental clarity and calmness it provides.

Inspired to explore the art further, Jamie headed to India to complete his 200 TTC.  This began the cycle of continuous development. Numerous trainings with teachers including Bernie Clark, Adam Husler and Jill Miller followed, plus Jamie completed Jason Crandell's 300-hour advanced training (twice!).

Jamie specialises in Vinyasa Flow and Yin.  His classes are educational, playful, functional and adaptable to the individual student’s needs.  As a former DJ, you can always guarantee that Jamie has spent far too long preparing the accompanying playlist!

Having benefited so much from yoga himself, Jamie now tries to share the practice with as many people as possible through his fun and friendly Yoga Evolved Festivals and original workshops, including the infamous Gin Yin! 

Shea Leger:

Shea felt completely lost in life for a very long time and the journey to who she is now was in no way an easy path. After 10 years in fine dining bartending she was emotionally and physically drained and ready for a big change!

In 2016 yoga found her and in 2019 she became a 200hr certified teacher through Black Swan Yoga in Houston, TX and in 2021 she moved to Denver, CO to help open a Black Swan Yoga in the mountains. The magic of yoga and various healing tools helped her tremendously and showed her how powerful she truly is. Shea’s personal mission in life is to help show others they can heal & suffering is only temporary.

Shea took a leap of faith and trusted her intuition and has become very successful as a yoga teacher in a short amount of time. Shea has been apart of two 200hr YTT as a trainer and hosted several healing workshops.

Shea is a certified Reiki Healer and has a gift for sound healing. She is forever thankful for this practice and beyond blessed to be able to share her passions and help facilitate magical experiences for the wandering souls looking to shed the layers of this modern world and return home within.

In her classes you can expect more than just a yoga class. Shea wants you to feel complete from head to toe! She is trained in Vinyasa but incorporates Yin, breath work, sound healing and so much more in her teachings. She uses chakra knowledge and is very mindful of the human body. Shea can offer you a fun energetic full rounded vinyasa like class as well as a more restorative experience with multiple ways of using healing work. Her goal is to help you connect to your mind, body & breath and to hold space for you to create the practice that works for you. All yogis are welcome and rejoiced in her eyes.

Where is Isla Mujeres?

Isla Mujeres is a magical island just off the coast of Cancun, where the Gulf of Mexico meets the Caribbean Sea.  Regular ferrys run all day between the island and Cancun and the crossing takes 15 minutes.  We can arrange all transfers for you if requested in advance.

Prices

We have a number of beautifiul rooms for all budgets.  The majority are inside our incredible Mexican style retreat house.  Due to demand, we added some extra rooms by securing some condos next door.   This is part of the same resort and has the same access as the retreat house.  Jamie and Shea stay in the condos, which are an extra 60 seconds walk to the Shala.
